Yeah I totally agree with this - once life has unfolded, it's difficult to imagine things having happened any other way! I still haven't seen the Crown, though everyone I know seems to rave about it - I'll have to give it a go in 2018 :) x

Yeah it's definitely something you can't force - you have to truly enjoy it. I think that's been my lesson of 2018: it's ok not to feel like it sometimes but when you do have the ideas you have to get them down! Happy New Year x

I'm also not a big fan of setting resolution I have broad goals that I like to make progress on but I find the nature of New years resolutions sets us up to fail because there's this notion that they must commence January first and have to keep going without breaking even one day which is silly. One of my goal next year is also to finally write a novel I have started at least three years ago. It's hard to find the time to write - and be satisfied with what you write! - when you're busy all the time, so it's been on pause for a while now. I'm 100% with you on this project girl, you go and finish that novel! I'd love to know more about the process and all your thoughts and experiences about writing.

I also harbour dreams of writing a novel, and have the exact same problem. I spend far too much time trying to get the perfect beginning out, and when I can't get it just right I become disheartened and stop making progress. So my goal is the same as yours - to just get a full draft out and work on perfecting it later. 85,000 is amazing progress so well done - you're doing better than I am! And I'd love to hear more about your writing here on the blog!
