The Everyday Makeup Edit #10

Does this post still need an introduction after 10 instalments?! A little later than planned, it's time to chat through my go-to makeup products over these past few weeks.

Base

My current primer of choice is the Becca Backlight Priming Filter | £32. It's hydrating and reflective, so gives my skin an amazing glow - it makes my base look really radiant even when paired with quite a matte foundation. I follow it up with my usual Bobbi Brown Corrector (Peach) | £19.50 | review | before going in with a recent rediscovery: the Cover FX Natural Finish Foundation * (G50) | £34. It's pretty much everything you want from an everyday foundation - it goes on so smoothly (I use a damp blending sponge) and really looks like part of the skin as opposed sitting on top of it. It has a medium coverage so evens out the tone of my skin, making it look more healthy and masking any flaws, however still looks very natural. I don't think it's one for oilier complexions because on my combination skin I definitely get a bit of shine around my t-zone by lunchtime (which is resolved with a bit of powder) but if you like that fresh, radiant look and also want something with more coverage than a tinted moisturiser, then this is for you.

For part of last month I was trialling the new ColourPop concealer (which you can check out my thoughts onhere) but, spoiler alert: I wasn't into it, so quickly switched back to my tried and trusted combination of theNars Soft Matte Complete Concealer(Ginger) | £24 | and theMaybelline Age Rewind Eraser Eye Concealer(Nude) | £8.99. I mention these two so much that I don't want to bore you by talking them through yet again, so you can check out my thoughtshereif you're new to my blog! The same goes for my powder option - once again it's theMAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural(Medium Dark) | £24.50 |review.

Cheeks

One of the highlights of my recentColourPop haulwas thePressed Powder Highlighter in Bae Area| $8. I've only had it about 5 minutes but you can probably see how well-loved it's been already! It's just a beautiful colour - a sort of warm bronzed gold, and the formula is lovely - it's very smooth and has a gorgeous sheen without any glitter.

I don't usually talk about brushes because it tends to be the same tools that I reach for on a regular basis, however these two were just too good not to get a mention! I'm so glad I picked up theReal Techniques Multitech BrushesinLarge&Extra Large| £11.99 & £13.49. I've pretty much exclusively used the same brushes for cheek products for well over a year, so it's a big deal that there are new tools that I'm reaching for every single day. The tapered point these brushes have means that they nestle perfectly into the hollows of the cheeks and the synthetic bristles pick up that perfect amount of product and ensure it applies smoothly and evenly to the skin. I really can't recommend these enough! The Large can be used for blusher (or more precise bronzer application, or for blending out your contour) and the Extra Large is great for bronzing.

In terms of bronzer, I've been reaching for myMake Up For Ever Pro Bronze Fusion in 30M Sienna本月再次| |£28.50。我不能形容how smooth and natural this matte-look formula is - I've never tried a powder like it! It blends beautifully, has the perfect level of pigment and hits that sweet spot between being warm enough to add some colour but not overly orange so it can't define as well. I also recently dug out a product I haven't used in ages: theMax Factor Creme Puff Blush in Alluring Rose| £8.99. I originally wasn't into these blushers because everyone compared them to the Hourglass ones (which have a very different formula on the whole, despite the similar appearance) however this is one of a couple that I held onto when I moved house. It's a lovely sheeny blusher in a bronzed-rose colour that's perfect for autumn.

Eyes

I've been using the same combination as a base on my eyelids aslast month: theUrban Decay Eye Primer Potion| £17 | andMAC Paint Pot in Layin Low| £16. However for eyeshadow I recently dug back out myBlank Canvas Master Series One Eyeshadow Palette* | £30 |review| and I'm loving it. I'm not sure why it's so underrated - it contains the perfect selection of matte shades for any warm nude eye look (I even got this for my mum on her birthday after she spotted mine!) The consistency of these shadows is great - it's smooth, pigmented, blends easily and wears well throughout the day. The shades I've been loving are the peachy-beige Brazen as a transition and Carmin (a warm reddish-brown) to deepen the crease. I've been patting theColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Sundance| | 5美元在我的中心lid - it's a gorgeous pearly coppery-rose gold colour. Their formula is so unique - a sort of spongy cream that has amazing opacity and longevity. I've been using theColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Noontide| $5 | on the outer corner with a flat synthetic shader brush. It has a softer metallic sheen and is a gorgeous chocolate colour with slightly charcoal undertones. I then go back in with my highlighter on the inner corner.

I'm still using my liner combination fromlast month's post: theStila Stay All Day Waterproof Eyeliner in Intense Black* | £14.50 |,Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion| £15.50 | &Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in Amber Haze| £19. On my lashes I recently repurchased my favourite: theMaybelline Lash Sensational Mascara| £8.99. I'm sure you don't really need me to go on about it again but I just love the separated volume, length, lift and curl that it gives my lashes. It also doesn't smudge or flake on me during the day.

Recently I've found myself reaching for theBenefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil* (04) | £20 | and setting it using theColourPop Clear Brow Boss Gel| $6. This brow pencil is one of those thicker, angled ones and it just makes it so quick and easy to create a bold brow that's nothing too unnatural. It's long-wearing and also comes with a spooly on the other end. The ColourPop brow gel is really nice - obviously it's a bit of a hard product type to get too excited about but the tiny brush is perfect and the formula holds my brow hairs in place without being crunchy.

Lips

For lips, as always, I have something a little more glossy and then a matte option. I'm loving the newStila Colour Balm Lipstick in Vivienne* | £16. It's much more pigmented than you'd expect from the name but feels nice and moisturising. It has a warm, rich plummy-red colour that's actually quite long-lasting for this type of formula. I've been alternating this with myMaybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Clay Crush|£6.99。它不是完全不透明的但它非常有限mfortable despite having a true matte finish and, true to name, it is very creamy in consistency. It's a mid-toned warm nude in a terracotta tone.
